To turn off your Google News feed, tap the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of the app, then tap “Settings.” Tap “General,” then turn off “Allow notifications.” This will prevent Google News from sending you any notifications. You can also turn off “Breaking news alerts” and “Local news notifications” if you only want to receive notifications for certain types of stories.

Turn off “Show full articles in Newsstand”

Open the “Settings” tab by pressing the three dots in the top-right corner of the Google News homepage. Then, press “Settings,” which is the fourth option down on the resulting drop-down menu. Doing so will open a new tab. Scroll down to “Show full articles in Newsstand.” This option is turned on by default, but you can toggle it off by tapping the white switch to the right of it.
