For high school, she went to Bethlehem Central High School in Delmar, New York, where she was captain of the cheerleading squad and played tennis.

Megyn Kelly was born on November 18, 1970, in Champaign, Illinois. She is of German and Irish descent. Her father, Edward Kelly, worked for the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign as a professor of history. Her mother, Linda, was a homemaker. She has two older brothers and a younger sister. As a child, she regularly attended her father’s Irish concerts where she learned to sing Irish songs. One of her grandfathers was a police officer who served in the United States Navy during World War II.

Kelly’s relationship with Fox News had been strained for some time. In 2016, she publicly accused then-Fox News CEO Roger Ailes of sexual harassment. Ailes denied the allegations, but he resigned from his position shortly afterwards.
In her last few months at Fox News, Kelly was reportedly offered a new contract that would have paid her $20 million per year. She ultimately decided to leave the network, however, and is currently in talks with NBC about a possible role at the network.
