How to submit an obituary to A-K Valley News
Obituaries can be submitted to A-K Valley News in a variety of ways. The quickest and easiest way is to submit online. You can also submit by fax, email, or mail. All obituaries must be received before 3:00 p.m. in order to be published in the next day’s edition.
By email
To submit an obituary by email, send it to [email protected]. Please include the following information in your email:
-Your name and phone number
-The name of the deceased
-The date and place of death
-The date, time and place of the funeral or memorial service
-A brief summary of the deceased’s life (include surviving family members, education, work, military service, etc.)
-A photo of the deceased (optional)
Your obituary will be edited for style, length and clarity by our newsroom staff. Once it has been edited, a representative from our office will contact you to confirm publication details and to collect payment.
In person
Obituaries may be submitted in person to our newsroom at 910 5th Avenue, Ford City, PA 16226. Please bring a copy of the death certificate and any other pertinent information with you when you come to submit the obituary. We also require contact information for the funeral home or cremation society handling arrangements.
By phone
Submitting an obituary to A-K Valley News is simple. You can submit by phone, fax or email. You may also submit online through the A-K Valley News website.
To submit by phone, please call obituaries desk at 1-800-444-6397 and ask to speak to an obituary representative. The representative will take your information and provide you with a reference number for your submission.
To submit by fax, please print the obituary submission form found on the A-K Valley News website and fax it to 1-866-949-2884.
To submit by email, please send your completed obituary submission form to [email protected].
You may also submit online through the A-K Valley News website by clicking on the “Submit an Obituary” link found in the “Obituaries” section of the website.
