How to Disable Apple News

News can be a huge distraction, especially when you’re trying to get work done on your iPhone or iPad. Here’s how to disable Apple News.

With iOS 12, Apple introduced a new app called News. The app curates stories from various sources and presents them in a beautiful, easy-to-read layout. While some people may find the app useful, others may not want it on their devices. If you’re in the latter camp, here’s how to disable Apple News.

Tap the switch next to Allow Notifications to turn off notifications from Apple News.

If you’re not a fan of Apple News and would rather not have it taking up space on your device, you can easily disable it. This can be done by opening the Settings app and scrolling down to the Notifications section. Here, you will see a list of all the apps that are allowed to send notifications. Tap the switch next to Allow Notifications to turn off notifications from Apple News.

Tap the switch next to Show in Browsing History to disable Apple News from appearing in your Safari browsing history.

If you’d rather not have Apple News appearing in your Safari browsing history, you can disable it with a few taps. Here’s how:

Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
Tap Safari.
Tap the switch next to Show in Browsing History to disable Apple News from appearing in your Safari browsing history.

Tap the switch next to Show in Search to disable Apple News from appearing in your device’s search results.

If you’d prefer not to see Apple News stories when you search with Siri or Spotlight on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you can turn off Show in Search. When you disable Show in Search, Apple News won’t appear as asuggested app when you search with Siri or Spotlight.

Here’s how:

Open the Apple News app.
Tap the Following tab.
Tap your profile picture in the top-left corner.
Tap Settings.
Tap the switch next to Show in Search.

Tap the switch next to Show in Spotlight to disable Apple News from appearing in your device’s Spotlight search results.

If you’d rather not see Apple News stories in your device’s Spotlight search results, you can easily disable the feature. Here’s how:

1. Open the Settings app on your iOS device.
2. Tap General.
3. Tap Spotlight Search.
4. Tap the switch next to Show in Spotlight to disable Apple News from appearing in your device’s Spotlight search results.
